club grand prix
The internal Club Grand Prix does include a number of Sussex Grand Prix events but also covers a variety of local runs, including Park runs and cross country.
There are 20 races to choose from and participants can do as many or as few races as they like and will be scored on their best.
See the full Club Grand Prix rules below for more details.
How does it work?
The Club Grand Prix is open to anyone who is a fully paid up member of the Seaford Striders.
The method of scoring is as follows:
- Men and women are scored separately.
- The leading Strider in each case will be awarded 20 points, with 19 points for second, 18 for third and so on down to the 20th Strider to finish.
- Any runner exceeding 10 races will only have their best ten results counted.
- In the podium positions, the placing will be decided by the highest score in the head-to-head races.
Prior to this scoring, the Club Grand Prix points were taken from the Sussex Grand Prix Races – for historical results click here

Club Grand Prix 2021 is back!
Good news – the 2021 Club Grand Prix is due to commence!
For those who aren’t familiar with the CGP (Club Grand Prix), this is a series of events and races (and a lot of virtual events during COVID-19) in which any paid Strider gains points in a league table over the year. The first Strider gets 20 points, the second 19 and so on.
Striders double their turn out at Hellingly 10k
Seaford Striders more than doubled their turn out for the 34th edition of the John Faulds Hellingly 10k. From a field of 10 runners in the 2017 race, a more than double strength team of 21 Striders donned their black team colours to run the 2018 race through the...
Striders shine at Brighton Phoenix 10k
Sea breezes and England 1-0 up at the start of their Word Cup semi-final spurred Seaford Striders onto a strong performance in the Phoenix 10k. The overall race field was diminished due to the clash with the country’s first World Cup semi-final in 28 years, but the...
Why Join a Running Club?
There are many benefits to joining a running club here just a few reasons:
Meet like-minded people
Make lots of friends with people you already have running in common with and you can talk with people who understand your running interest/obsession! (blistered feet and all!)
Improve your running
You will always find someone who can run a little faster than you to be able to chase after. Organised sessions with interval training are designed to push you a little bit each week.
Support & Motivation
You will not only have your own personal bunch of cheerleaders but those days when you lack motivation become alot easier when there are others going out and getting it done and encouraging you. Just knowing other people will be there can make all the difference in lacing up your shoes and getting out that door!
"The obsession with running is really an obsession with the potential for more and more life."
