A huge congratulations from Seaford Striders to local blood transportation service SERV Sussex which has been awarded the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
In their voluntary work this charity provides night time transportation of blood, blood products and other urgent medical items for NHS Hospitals across Sussex. The service is provided free of charge to the NHS between the hours of 7pm and 6am, 365 days of the year via a committed team of volunteer riders and drivers often using their own vehicles.
SERV Sussex was our nominated charity for the Mince Pie Race in December 2015 and since then they have continued to volunteer to assist us during this race. They lead out the runners along Arundel Road and meet them again on the other road sections and accompany the leaders to the finish line – as pictured.
Congratulations to all involved with SERV Sussex!
